Over the Easter break I had a great time helping my dear friend Heather sew a set of gorgeous quilt cushions to match the special quilt I made her last year.
In one of our beginner quilting classes last year Heather learned the quilting technique and made her quilt squares into these gorgeous cushions as you can see below:
Quilt Cushion Features:
- Heather used the same patchwork technique we teach in our ‘Beginner Quilting Class’ to make cushion fronts
- The designs were to fit 40cm square cushions
- Iron-on Pellon (iron-on wadding) was used on the wrong side of the cushion panels
- Heather ditch stitched around feature panels to add loft
- Piping was added for a professional finish to the outer edges
- Heather learned how to insert invisible zips at piped lower edge cushion seams
- Coordinating fabrics were chosen for the back of the cushions to match the quilt
I think Heather did a fabulous job! Well done Heather!
