New Look Pattern 6799 – Emily’s Dress

In today’s sewing video I share a beautiful dress made by one of my sewing students Emily.

New Look Pattern 6799

Emily made her dress from New Look Pattern 6799 – View B (pink dress above) from a beautiful black brocade fabric. It features a fully lined bodice, faced collar, scooped armholes, darts on the bustline, a midriff panel and a softly gathered skirt. It also has a center back zip and two pearl buttons on the back neckline.

Merry Christmas & a special announcement

It’s been a fantastic year here at Rosewood Cottage Sewing Studio and we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous New Year for 2014!

This year we’ve launched some brand new classes to go along with our regular sewing classes. We have had quilting, millinery and our gorgeous kids club!

I would just like to forward a great big thank you to all our wonderful students as well as all of you who can’t come to Rosewood, your support, friendship emails and special messages have been fabulous!

Make your own HAT ~ NEW Millinery Classes

Would you like to make your own hat to match one of your outfits or simply to develop your creative and artistic skills?

We are pleased to announce that we have a brand NEW millinery class starting in Term 4!

Millinery Classes Geelong

Susan Younis is our new Millinery teacher here at Rosewood Cottage.

Susan is a member of the Australian Millinery Association, has a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics and Textiles. She has studied at Rusden State College, RMIT, the Ascot School of Millinery in Melbourne and the Gordon Institute Geelong. She has also completed a short course in Theatrical Millinery with Louise McDonald in Melbourne!

For the past 14 years Susan has developed many skills in traditional model millinery techniques and has been taught by some of Melbourne’s most qualified milliners and visiting milliners from England, America and Europe.

Many of Susan’s hats have been selected as “Best Hat” at Fashions on the Field around race meetings in Victoria including at the Geelong Cup, Bendigo Ballarat and Warrnambool.

Sarah Grace has worn Susan’s hats from Moore and Grace Acting school in Geelong and an actor in Winners and Losers has worn one of Susan’s hats to Emirates Day.

Afternoon: 1pm until 3.30pm
