Another fantastic Christmas sewing project is the ???Tree Skirt???! Marilyn???s is featured here.

The tree skirt is ideal to cover the pot of a living or artificial Christmas tree. Marilyn saw this skirt in a quilting magazine and just had to make it!

Marilyn used the foundation quilting method on alternating panels and matched it with a variety of patchwork and appliqu?? panels. Marilyn also used a variety of Christmas prints, ribbons and braids and finished off her tree skirt with a fully lined gathered ruffle on the scalloped hemline. To add the final touch Marilyn stitched a beautiful satin bias binding around the neckline to tie around the trunk of her Christmas tree.

To make the tree skirt simply cut and sew together the following:

  • Panels approx length 53cm with a narrow end of 8cm and wide end 44cm
  • x4 Green Panels
  • x4 Xmas Patchwork Panels
  • Finished scallop circumference approx 3.36mts outer circle
  • Ruffle: 10cm wide x8mts ??? folded in half and stitched between skirt and lining

You may vary your size and hemline shape according to your preference.
